In May of the fourth year of Wuping (573), the late ruler Gao Wei sent envoys to send poisoned wine to Gao Changgong. Gao Changgong said to his Princess Zheng (Princess Lanling) in Xingyang: "I am so loyal to my country, how can I fail the emperor and give me poisoned wine?" Zheng replied, "Why not explain it to the emperor himself?" Gao Changgong said, "How can the Emperor receive me?" So he died of drinking zhenniao as a memorial gift to Qiu.
Anecdotal allusions
Gao Changgong's work was highly praised, and Hu Taihou was afraid that he would take away his son's throne, so he gave him a concubine named Zhang Xiangxiang in the name of the emperor, in order to assassinate him. Zhang Xiangxiang, the ambassador of the United States and the United States, tried his best, but Gao Changgong kept the courtesy of the monarch and the minister, unmoved.
Half a year later, instead of assassinating Gao Changgong, she was moved by his loyalty to the country and told Hu Taihou about the plot. Hu Taihou was furious and wanted to call Zhang Xiangxiang back and kill him. Gao Changgong fell in love with this beautiful and kind woman in this process and really took her as his concubine.
