Historical materials are as follows:

In the last years of Emperor Jing of the Western Han Dynasty (BC 143- 14 1), Wen Weng, the prefect of Shu County, founded Shu County School in the south of Chengdu (where Shishi Middle School in Chengdu, Sichuan Province is located). According to Hanshu, Wen Weng "set up a fine stone house" and "recruited Xiaxian children as official apprentices". At the same time, he sent teachers to study in Chang 'an, the capital, and returned to Sichuan to teach. Since then, "Wen Weng Shishi" has become the name of the school run by Wen Weng. Since then, Shu has become one of the regions with developed science and culture in China. Eighteen years later, in 24 BC, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty ordered all counties and countries in the world to follow the example of Shu County and generally set up official schools and schools.

Evolution:

"Wen Weng Poetry" was founded soon, and it is famous for its outstanding style of study and talented people. In 124 BC, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty ordered the whole country to set up schools following Wen Weng's example. More than 200 years later, a fire broke out in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and the stone chambers were severely damaged together with Chengdu. It was not restored by Shu until AD 194. In the same year, a famous "state-occupied county school" event happened, and Shishi was changed to Yizhou state school. After 994 AD, Shu began to publish stone inscriptions in stone chambers, and continued to publish them in the Northern Song Dynasty. It was not until the reign of Xuanhe that the Thirteen Classics were all carved. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, Zhang was occupied by Shu, and the stone chambers were destroyed. 166 1 year, the government established an official school in the former site of Shishi, Wen Weng. In the 300 years of the Qing Dynasty, the Sichuan School actually took this as its head. During the reign of Kangxi, Liu, the provincial judge of Sichuan, built Jinjiang Academy here. Until 1902, Cen Chunxuan, governor of Sichuan, changed it to Chengdu Normal School, and after the implementation of Guimao academic system, it was changed to Du Fu Middle School. After the Revolution of 1911, it was renamed Chengdu United Middle School. 1940 In February, the school was renamed Shishi Middle School in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and was awarded the National Excellent Demonstration Middle School in 1948. After the founding of the People's Republic of China1September 1952, the school was renamed Chengdu No.4 Middle School. During the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, Shishi Middle School was destroyed for the third time, and all buildings in the Qing Dynasty ceased to exist. In April, the old name 1983 was restored.

The significance of running a school in Wen Weng in the history of education in China is highlighted as follows:

1. Wen Weng Poetry is the first official school built by a provincial local government, which is the first in China and has far-reaching influence. Since Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty ordered all counties in China to follow Wen Weng's example, schools have sprung up all over the country, showing a vibrant scene and promoting the social and cultural development at that time.

Secondly, Wen Weng's achievements in promoting learning are highly praised by later generations. Wen Weng's achievements in running schools and promoting the development of Shu culture are compared with the brilliant achievements of Li Bing and his son in building Dujiangyan water conservancy project. "Wen Weng's Shu" and "Li Bing's Water Control" are immortal achievements of Sichuan in Qin and Han Dynasties, which have benefited future generations and contributed greatly in history. The promotion of Li Bing and Wen Weng to the economic and cultural development of Sichuan has been praised and admired by people for thousands of years.

Thirdly, Wen Weng has formed a profound stone culture accumulation and rich educational theories, such as "no money without teaching, no learning without wealth", "Suntech is the first to teach" and "lure in". These viewpoints and theories have extended to later generations and become an important part of China's fine educational tradition and thought, and even today, more than two thousand years later, they still have very positive significance. Fourth, although times have changed, Shishi has been running a school in the original site (now Shishi Middle School in Chengdu, Sichuan Province) for more than 2,000 years, and local governments have attached great importance to it and strongly supported it, making it immortal and rare in the world.

1904 (30th year of Guangxu), the school was changed from "Chengdufu Normal School" to Chengdufu Middle School. This marks the beginning of a new school. Although the name of the school has changed many times since then, this change of 1904 is regarded as an epoch-making change in the history of stone room education. Great changes have taken place in the educational system, learning contents, the use of teaching materials and the choice of teachers, especially in the reform of students' learning contents, that is, from the previous Confucian classics such as Poetry, Book, Book of Changes, Yili, Chunqiu and Analects of Confucius to learning modern advanced scientific and cultural knowledge, and its school-running pattern is closer to the current middle school pattern. Students were influenced by advanced science and democracy in their learning process, which laid the foundation for the rise and development of Shishi student movement in the 1940s. It should be said that the reform of the new school is an important measure for Shishi school-running people to "adapt to the times" and adapt to the development of the times.
