Luo, one of the prototypes of white-haired girl, 1923, is from Fengyi Township, Yibin County, Sichuan Province. Luo Xilian, the local landlord, and his wife Tao Tianzhen and others forced her father to death and killed her brother. 1939, 16-year-old Luo was forced to hide in the deep forest of Duantou Mountain at the border of Sichuan and Yunnan, and lived a savage life of 17 years. 1956, Luo was rescued from the mountain. At the age of 33, she returned to the world with white hair. The local government built a house for Luo, helped her financially, and specially sent county and township cadres to live in her house to take care of her life and arrange her marriage. 1958, Chen Yi visited Luo and praised her fearless spirit against oppression.
