Beijing was the capital of five dynasties (Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing).
With Beijing as its capital: Yan, Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming, Qing, Republic of China, People's Republic of China (PRC) and People's Republic of China (PRC).
Spring and Autumn Period: During the Warring States Period, it was the capital of Yan State, then called Ji.

Pre-Qin to Qin and Han Dynasties
During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period (770 BC-2265438 BC+0 BC), concubine built a city in Beijing. Later, Yan defeated concubine and moved her capital to Yan Dou or Yanjing.
The Qin Dynasty is Jixian County, which is the headquarters of Yangguangjun.
In the fifth year of Emperor Wudi's reign, it was designated as the territory of Yan State. In the first year of Yuanfeng, it was re-established as Yang Guang Ji County, belonging to Youzhou. In the first year of Benshi, it was the capital of Yang Guang.
When Guangwu was reformed in the Eastern Han Dynasty, the secretariat department of Youzhou was located in Jixian County. Yongyuan reinstated Yangguangjun in eight years.
Jin to Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties
Until the Western Jin Dynasty, the court changed Yang Guangjun to Yan State, and Youzhou moved to Fan Yang. After the Sixteen Kingdoms and Zhao Dynasty, the residence of Youzhou moved back to Jixian County, and the state of Yan was changed to Yan County, which remained unchanged after the rule of Yan Qian, the former Qin Dynasty, the later Yan Dynasty and the Northern Wei Dynasty.
It was not until Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty abandoned Yan County for three years. But soon in the great cause of three years, the Sui Dynasty changed Youzhou to Zhuo Jun.
During the Wude period in the early Tang Dynasty, Zhuo Jun was also called Youzhou. In the first year of Zhenguan, Youzhou was placed under the jurisdiction of Hebei Road. Liao dynasty
The Liao Dynasty established Nanjing in Beijing in the first year of Huitong, and changed Youzhou to Nanjing Xijin House, and renamed Yanjing in the first year of Kaitai.
Jin Dynasty
In the first year of Zhenyuan, Emperor Wan Yanliang of Jin Hailing officially established Beijing as the capital, which is called Zhongdu in history. Since then, the capitals of Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty have all been located in Beijing.
