The Forbidden City was founded in 1406 (the fourth year of Yongle) and basically completed in 1420 (the eighteenth year of Yongle), lasting 14 years. It was built by Judy, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, on the basis of the palace of the Yuan Dynasty. The Forbidden City in Beijing, formerly known as the Forbidden City, is located in the center of Beijing's central axis. It is the palace of Ming and Qing dynasties, and it is the largest and best-preserved wooden palace building in the world.
