Why did Yongzheng rectify the bureaucracy?
Because if the bureaucracy is not cleaned up, the rule of the Qing Dynasty will really be in jeopardy, and the corruption of bureaucracy to a certain extent is the node of the gradual decline of the dynasty. Yongzheng cleaned up the bureaucracy because the Qing Dynasty had begun to decline. Kangxi fought in the battlefield all his life. Young and wise, he captured Ao Bai and then conquered galdan. It can be said that such a generation of wise monarchs and outstanding political achievements have created a generation of prosperity, but Kangxi reigned for 61 years. For a long time, both monarchs and officials have the heart of arrogance and extravagance. When they are old, there is always some kindness in them, so they turn a blind eye to the corruption of officials.

In fact, no matter whether Yongzheng usurped the throne or not, it is undeniable that Yongzheng was indeed a good emperor who successfully rectified the bureaucracy. This does not mean that corrupt officials are all bad people to be killed. This is not to put in a good word for corrupt officials, but to face the fact that corruption is illegal, why are so many people being corrupted one after another?

The first point is that the salaries of officials are too low, with only one hundred and eighty-two taels of silver for first-class officials. It is really tight to support the family, not to mention the salaries of those officials with different products, which is even more pitiful. What is the purpose of being an official? Isn't it just to honor our ancestors and live a good life? But being an official now is almost the same as not being an official. It can't be said that there are no incorruptible officials. It can only be said that there are too few such officials, and most other officials will gradually go to the point of no return of corruption. This is a very important reason for the low salary of officials.

Secondly, the so-called "top-down effect" means that not only officials are corrupt, but also the children of the Eight Banners in the royal family are blatantly corrupt. Originally, the children of the Eight Banners were treated very well, so they didn't have to work. They walked the birds and played riding and shooting every day. However, more and more of these people don't say that they are insatiable about crazy enclosure corruption, and because these children of the Eight Banners are all relatives of the country, the rulers mostly criticize this situation in the form of education. If they really can't, let them go to the land where Nurhachi started in the northeast to reflect on life.
