Friendship Pass is also called Ji Ling Pass, Jieshou Pass, Da Nanguan Pass and Zhenguan Pass. Friendship Pass ranks first among the three passes in Guangxi (Pinger Pass, Shuikou Pass and Friendship Pass). Because of its magnificent architecture and precipitous situation, it is also called "the second pass in the world" and one of the nine famous passes in China. All previous dynasties were the strategic pass of China's southern border defense. Friendship Pass is located at the Sino-Vietnamese border in Pingxiang City, Guangxi, with buildings 100 feet on both sides. Like a python, it is a magnificent pearl embedded in the Sino-Vietnamese border.
1885, Feng Zicai, a famous soldier of the Qing army, led his army to defeat the French invaders here, and achieved a great victory in Zhennan, which attracted worldwide attention. 1907, Zhennanguan Uprising led by Sun Yat-sen and Huang Xing in history. Today, there are still ancient battlefields of the Sino-French War, mass graves of the Great Qing Dynasty and other war sites. In 1950s, with the approval of Premier Zhou, it was renamed Munanguan. Later, in order to show the profound friendship between the Chinese and Vietnamese people, it was renamed "Friendship Pass".
Youyiguan Building has experienced many vicissitudes and has been destroyed (demolished) many times. 1957, Guangxi provincial government allocated funds to rebuild Guanlou. Guanlou has four floors, 22 meters high and covers an area of 180 square meters. The ground floor is made of rectangular stone, and the gate is inlaid with a "Friendship Pass" inscribed by Marshal Chen Yi. The font is vigorous and powerful. There are three pavilions on the city gate, and an exhibition hall on the second floor, which displays pictures and cultural relics of major events since the victory of Nanguan, an important city in the Sino-French war. The third floor is divided into two parts: the conference room and the Sino-Vietnamese foreign affairs conference room. On the fourth floor, the national prestige of People's Republic of China (PRC) (PRC) was shaped above the facade, and a five-star red flag fluttered on the roof.
The wall of Guanlou is very thick, and the serrated wall on the upper layer of the wall is "carved". Stone railings are exquisitely carved, arched doors and windows are exquisitely composed, and doors and windows are inlaid with turquoise glass, which is exquisite and elegant. The doors and windows are deliberately carved and antique. The whole building is magnificent and solid, with national characteristics.
The French building behind the Guanlou was built in the Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty and was designed and rebuilt by French engineers. It has French architectural style, so it is called French architecture. Although the building has gone through more than a hundred years, its pale yellow walls and reddish mechanism remain unchanged, which has become a landscape for people to study history and architecture. The square in front of Friendship Pass is wide, with kapok and pine and cypress planted on both sides and Millennium-old pressed leaves on the left, which adds a little vitality to Friendship Pass.
