The Historical Evolution of Xingshan County
The old was the feudal land of Chu, and the old ruled Gaoyangcheng.

In the third year of Wu Yong 'an in the Three Kingdoms (260), Xingshan was set up in the northern boundary of Zigui County, and it was named Xingshan because the county government rose in the mountains.

Changning County was established in the Northern and Southern Dynasties (Xingshan and Zigui were transferred to Changning). In the first year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (58 1), Changning was changed to Zigui (Xingshan was Zigui).

In the third year of Tang Wude (620), Xingshan was established in Zigui.

In the fifth year of Xining in the Northern Song Dynasty (1072), Xingshan entered Zigui.

Xingshan was merged into Badong County in the seventh year of Ming Dynasty (1442), and Xingshan County was restored in the seventh year of Chenghua (147 1).

1949, Xingshan county government was established, which successively belonged to Yichang area, Yichang area and Yichang city.

1992 65438+February 12. The Ministry of Civil Affairs approved the relocation of Xingshan County Government from Levin Town to Gufu Town.

The county government is located in Levin Town.

200 1 1 5, Xingshan County officially announced that the original 7 towns and 6 townships were merged into 6 towns and 2 townships: except for the original Wenwen Town and Gao Qiao Township, other townships were adjusted: Gaolan Town, Jianyang Ping Township, Xiangping Township, Pingshui Township and Huoshiling Township were abolished, and the original Gaolan Town, Jianyangping Township and Huoshiling Township were abolished. The new township governments are stationed in Shuiyue Temple, Daxiakou, Nanyang River and Fuziyan respectively. Huoshiling Township 14 Village belongs to Huang Liang Town and hazel Township respectively.

At the end of 2004, the total population of Xingshan County was 184689. It has jurisdiction over 6 towns of Gufu, Laiwen, Xiakou, Nanyang, Huang Liang and Shuiyue Temple, 2 townships of Gao Qiao and Hazelnut, 12 neighborhood committees and 102 village committees.

On August 17, 2009, with the approval of Hubei Provincial Government, Levin Town of Xingshan County was renamed Zhaojun Town. Levin Town, a small town where immigrants moved, is the birthplace of Wang Zhaojun, the Ming princess of the Western Han Dynasty. Founded in the second year of the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 989), it is the original office of Xingshan County.
