According to legend, Zuo Zhuan is a historical book annotated by Zuo Qiuming, a native of Lu, at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period.

The original name of Zuo Zhuan was Zuo's Chunqiu, and it was also called Chunqiu Zuoshi and Chunqiu Zhuan in Han Dynasty, and it was only after Han Dynasty that Zuo Zhuan was called. It covers the period from 722 BC (Luyin AD) to 454 BC.

They are precious documents and excellent prose works for studying the pre-Qin history of China.
