What is the main theme of The Romance of Sui and Tang Dynasties?
This book tells the historical story of more than 70 years from Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty's attack on Chen and his plot to seize the throne to the death of Emperor Mingdi of Tang Dynasty/KLOC-0. This book is divided into three parts. The first part is about the gathering and separation of heroes such as Qin Qiong and Dan Xiong Xin. The second and third parts are about the marriage with Zhu Guier, Tang and Yang Guifei, interspersed with historical events such as Juyi, the hero of Wagangzhai, Mulan's father joining the army, Emperor Taizong's martial arts, and Wu Zetian's change to emperor. The novel reflects the struggle within the feudal ruling class and exposes their decadence, luxury, debauchery and cruelty: Yang Guang used all despicable means to expand his power in order to seize the Crown Prince, and finally killed his younger brother Yong Yang; The rebellion between Yang and An Shi led to great social unrest in Tianbao period. Yang Guifei's sisters squandered the blood and sweat of the people in order to satisfy their luxurious and decadent life.

At the same time, the novel also describes a series of peasant movements under the rule of dark politics, praising their courage and loyalty. These careless heroes hate corrupt officials and show deep sympathy to the working people. They distributed the property of corrupt officials to the hungry, arrested eunuchs who were ordered to choose draft women and swindled property, and killed Quan Hao, the son who abused ordinary women. The author pinned his ideals on these heroes.
