Site of Late Village of Sidaogou Primitive Clan Commune
The site of the late village of Sidaogou primitive clan commune is located in Sidaogou, Dongcheng Township, Rem County, which is 0/0 km away from the county seat/kloc, and it is a river ditch zone from east to west. It is one of the cultural relics protection units in the autonomous region. According to the determination of charcoal samples unearthed in Sidaogou by archaeologists, the site is divided into early and late stages. The fifth and sixth floors are early, more than 3000 years ago; The first, second and third floors were late, 2400 years ago. In the summer of 1977, the cultural relics team of the Cultural Relics Management Committee of the autonomous region and the county cultural center conducted a trial excavation of the site, and cleared up two trenches, six exploration sites, six tombs and more than 0/00 historical relics. These historical relics include stone balls, stone hoes, stone spinning wheels, grain grinders, stone pestles, copper knives, copper plates, etc., and ornaments include bone needles, bone ornaments, ceramic spinning wheels, pottery pots, etc. Among many earth tools, there is a kind of stone ancestor that looks like genitals, which is particularly precious. Because people's ability to resist natural disasters was very poor at that time, the average life expectancy was only thirty years old, and the population growth was slow. They believe that fertility is a sacred thing, and there is a god behind the male genitals. So they used stones to polish the stone ancestors into the shape of male genitals and offered them as sacrifices to pray for the prosperity of the tribal people. This worship has the same significance as the reproductive worship in the rock paintings of Shimenzi in Konka.
The site of Sidaogou clan commune is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Dongcheng river flows from Nanshan Pass and flows from east to west in the south of the site. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the mountains are undulating. Whenever summer comes, the hillside is full of green grass, fragrant pea flowers and breezes rolling on the wheat waves, making it an ideal tourist destination.
Sidaogou site is the only village site in the later period of clan commune that has been scientifically excavated in Xinjiang. The autonomous region has listed it as a key cultural relics protection unit, erected protected boundary markers, and the Rem County Museum also exhibited the cultural relics unearthed from the site.
