History of Chengguan Town
Chengguan Town, formerly known as Chaling Town, was formed in the Tang Dynasty. The Southern Song Dynasty has been ruled by Chaling County. During the Northern Song Dynasty, it developed with the rise of shipbuilding industry. Shui Gu is in the south and Yunshan is in the north. There is an ancient city inside and a Xiongguan outside, hence the name. Song Dynasty cast "Nanpu Iron Rhinoceros", also known as "Rhinoceros City". 1955 changed to Chengguan Town. Chengguan Town, known as the "silent throat", is a battleground for military strategists in past dynasties and has become an important battlefield many times in history. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong and Tan Zhenlin once engaged in revolutionary activities here. 9 grams of Chaling City is the revolutionary army of workers and peasants, and the first county government of workers, peasants and soldiers in Jinggangshan revolutionary base was established here on 1927. CCTV's special program "Jinggangshan" 1997 on June 27th introduced that "the red regime in Jinggangshan base area, the red regime in the Central Soviet Area, and even today's Zhongnanhai the State Council came out of the small house on the Jinggangshan waterfront". Therefore, Chengguan Town has the glorious title of "Revolutionary City".
