The history of the ancient elephant kingdom
Xiang Xiong (Tibetan:, Tibetan Pinyin: xangxu, Willie: zhangzhu), the birthplace of Yongzhong, has a unique Xiang Xiong script.

After the rise of Tubo, Xiangxiong gradually declined, and the last king Li Mixia (Tibetan:, lig mi rkya) married Songzan Gambu's sister Zanmeng Saimaga (Tibetan:), so the two sides were originally allied. However, due to the prosperity of Tubo, the relationship between the two sides deteriorated. Finally, in 642, Songzan Gambo led his soldiers to crusade against Toarey Yang on the grounds of praising Monsaimaga's fall from grace. It took three years to defeat Toarey Yang and appointed Qiong Bobangse (Tibetan:) as the general manager of Xiang Xiong. Xiang Xiong became a vassal state of Tubo.

After Langdama destroyed the Buddha, a fugitive elephant of the Tubo royal family established the Guge dynasty in the local area.
