Zhungeer Banner, formerly known as Ordos Zuoqian Banner, means "left wing" in Mongolian and Chinese. It is a flag under the jurisdiction of Erdos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China. It is located at the junction of Shanxi, Shaanxi and Mongolia, in the east of Ordos City. The flag boundary is116.5km long from north to south and115.2km wide from east to west.
By the end of 2022, Zhungeer Banner had jurisdiction over 7 towns, 2 townships 1 Sumu and 4 sub-district offices with a permanent population of 364,700.
Zhungeer Banner is located in the southeast of Ordos Plateau, with an average elevation of 1, 202.3 meters. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with a slight uplift in the middle, and the eastern edge is inclined as the basin edge. The landform is mainly hilly and gully, and the Yellow River flows 238 kilometers along the north, east and south of the flag.
It has a continental semi-arid climate in the middle temperate zone, with four distinct seasons, short hot summer, rapid cooling in autumn and long cold winter. Zhungeer Banner has a long history. In the second year of the Western Han Dynasty (BC 127), Anshan County was located in the north of Qibei, and Meijia, Fuchang, Yan Guang and Guluo counties were located in the middle and southwest. Yulin City, Shengzhou and Yulin County were successively established in Sui and Tang Dynasties.
Zhungeer Banner was built in Dongsheng, Jinsu and Fengzhou during the Song and Yuan Dynasties, and was placed under the jurisdiction of Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the sixth year of Qing Shunzhi (AD 1649). The Qing government set up Ordos Left Front Banner (Zhungeer Banner),1September, 999, withdrew from Yikezhao League and set up Ordos City.
Zhungeer Banner is rich in mineral resources, including coal, limestone, kaolin, pyrite, iron ore, etc. 13, of which Zhungeer Banner has a proven total coal reserve of about 58.2 billion tons, making it a major coal-producing county in China.
Now it has three leading industries: coal, electricity and coal chemical industry. In 2022, the regional GDP exceeded130 billion yuan, up by 5.3%, and the ratio of three industrial structures was 654.38+0.4: 77.6: 265.438+0.0. It ranks 23rd among the top 100 counties in China and 2nd among the top 100 counties in the west in 2022.
