Before the mystery of Mount Tai's "Insect II" attracted experts' attention, many people just stayed in the discussion stage. Although it has appeared in front of many people, no one can give an explanation.
Mount Tai is the first of the five mountains, attracting thousands of tourists every year. When some scholars come here, they often leave words on impulse. These inscriptions also constitute a beautiful scenery on Mount Tai.
Before the Qing Dynasty, there were no cliff stone carvings engraved with "Insect II" on Mount Tai. According to the inscriptions of "June Summer" and "Li Ting" on the stone tablet, these two words should be engraved by Liu Tinggui, a famous person in Jinan in the 25th year of Guangxu reign of Qing Dynasty (1899).
Experts found Liu Tinggui's resume.
Liu Tinggui is young and smart, and he was admitted to a scholar at the age of twelve. Therefore, it is nicknamed "Liu Twelve". When I visited with my friends, I saw the infinite scenery of Daizong and wrote the word "Insect II".
This "Bug two" is actually short of pens. Add a few more strokes and it will become "romantic". Remove the outer frame of these two words, which means "Insect II". The change from "romance" to "Insect 2" actually implies the meaning of "boundless romance".
In fact, this practice is a common method for literati to split characters. The Japanese can't see it, but Guo Moruo, who has profound attainments in philology and history, knows the story at a glance.
The word "rambling romance" comes from Zhu's Portrait of Mr. Liu and Mr. Lian in Song Dynasty: "rambling romance, green flowers and plants". Liu Tinggui's words are intended to illustrate the beauty of Mount Tai.
