Zhao Jie was born in an ordinary family in Yangyuan, Zhangjiakou. 1 1 years old began to study martial arts in a martial arts school in Shijiazhuang. In 2002, he was selected by AARON Li, the coach of the provincial Wushu team, and became a professional Wushu player.

Zhao Jie said that he liked martial arts mainly because he envied the chivalrous men on the screen, so he pestered his father to practice martial arts, and later started his martial arts career in a martial arts school in Shijiazhuang. During his stay in the martial arts school, Zhao Jie's talent was well developed, and he soon became the top of the martial arts school, often participating in competitions and performances on behalf of the martial arts school.

His outstanding talent and performance moved coach AARON Li, who recruited him into the provincial team.

In May, 2003, Zhao Jie won two first prizes and a third prize in the National Youth Wushu Competition held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, after less than one year of professional training. In May 2004, he participated in the National Wushu Championship held by Hubei Wushu School and won the seventh place.

2005 was the most glorious year in Zhao Jie. He first won a first prize and two second prizes in the national Wushu preliminaries held in Chengdu, Sichuan. Later, in August 2005, he participated in the National Youth Wushu Championship held in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Later, in the 10th Sports Meeting held in Nanjing in 10, he won a bronze medal for the Hebei delegation in the face of superior athletes.

From June 5 to April 38, 2005, Zhao Jie participated in the World Wushu Championship held in Viet Nam, and won the cudgel championship in one fell swoop, which was his first world champion and also the first world champion of men's Wushu in the history of Hebei Province.

In 2006, Zhao Jie won the all-around champion of knife and stick in the national championship. After the game, he said, "My goal is to challenge the Olympic Games and win gold and silver medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games."
