Shuangjiang is located in the northern border village of Changsha County, in the Longhua Mountains at the junction of Changsha, Pingjiang and Liuyang. The town has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages, 1 neighborhood committees, 269 villagers' groups, with 23,000 people, and cultivated land10.97 million mu, covering an area of 66.4 square kilometers. It is 63km away from Changsha, the provincial capital, and 5 1 km away from Xingsha, the county seat. Shuang jiang is the only old revolutionary base area in Changsha County, which was used in 1989.

During the period from 1928 to 1935, its red regime was under the jurisdiction of the twentieth district of Pingjiang county. From the revolutionary era of sturm und drang to 1979, there were 287 registered revolutionary martyrs who died for their country, more than half of the total number of martyrs in Changsha County. Shuangjiang was originally a township organization. In August 2002, he withdrew from his hometown to build a town.
