Changzhou, known as Longcheng and Piling in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province and a central city in the Yangtze River Delta. It is located in the east of China, the south of Jiangsu Province and the northwest bank of Taihu Lake. It is adjacent to Wuxi in the east, Nanjing and Zhenjiang in the west, and Wuxi and Xuancheng in Anhui Province in the south.

Changzhou's name comes from Changshu, and "Chang" means "eternity". In the ninth year of Huang Kai (589), Changzhou was established in Changshu County, then Changshu County was divided into Suzhou, and Changzhou was moved to Jinling. The name of Changzhou came from this, and all dynasties were ruled by counties, States, roads and governments. There used to be names such as Yanling, Piling, Pitan, Jinling, Changchun, Changzhou and Wujin.

Changzhou is a kind of metropolis, an important city in Shanghai metropolitan area and Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou metropolitan area, one of the central cities in the Yangtze River Delta approved by the State Council, an advanced manufacturing base and a famous cultural tourism city.

Changzhou is a national historical and cultural city and an excellent tourist city in China. Represented by Yancheng Tourist Area in the Spring and Autumn Period, Tianning Temple, Maoshan Mountain, Global Dinosaur City, Hongmeige, Wenbi Pagoda and other scenic spots, there are more than 30 former residences of celebrities such as Qu Qiubai, Zhang, Tang Jingchuan, Yunnan Tian, Zhao Yi, Zhao Yi, Zhou, and Liang Shi.
