The Origin of Jiangmen
Jiangmen City is named "Jiangmen" because it is located at the intersection of Xijiang River and its tributary-Pengjiang River, and Yandun Mountain in the south of the Yangtze River faces Penglai Mountain in the north of the Yangtze River. Jiangmen was Xinhui County before the city was built. From 1992 to 1994, five counties have been removed from counties to set up cities, which are managed by Jiangmen City. In September 2002, Xinhui was divided into districts and merged into Jiangmen City. Xinhui, Taishan, Kaiping, Enping and Heshan are called "Wuyi" at home and abroad.
