The Development Course of Beijing Palace Museum
Beijing Baigong Museum, also known as Baigong Workshop, has a collection of "Baigong stunts" and "masterpieces handed down from generation to generation"-both of which are the quintessence of the Chinese nation. The word "Baigong" originated from the official book Kao Gong Ji in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. From the Yuan Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, special institutions were set up for the production of royal handicrafts, namely, the Ministry of Industry in the Yuan Dynasty, the Ministry of Supervision in the Ming Dynasty and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Qing Dynasty, which were collectively called the Hundred Workshops.

Baigongfang is the first workshop in Beijing. After completion, it covers a total area of 42,000 square meters, with nearly 100 art categories. 100 More than one master of arts and crafts set up characteristic workshops and master studios here. The museum has a core main exhibition area, a comprehensive exhibition area, an audio-visual education area, an academic exchange and discussion area, an appraisal area and a comprehensive service area. The first phase of the project opened at the end of 2003, receiving tens of thousands of tourists from all walks of life at home and abroad, and held various activities such as academic seminars, collection auctions, master lectures, gem identification and design competitions.

In March 2005, Beijing Baigongfang was officially approved as a museum by the relevant departments-Baigongfang Museum, which is also the first "living" museum in Beijing. Different from other museums, visitors can not only enjoy all kinds of folk handicrafts, but also learn about their development history, and even get in touch with more than 100 folk handicraft masters from all over the country to create and discuss. Baigong Museum is jointly established and supported by Beijing Municipal Government and Chongwen District Government, and is based on Beijing arts and crafts industry.

The association is jointly established by arts and crafts associations in eight provinces and cities including Shanghai, Jiangsu and Shaanxi. Baigong Museum has an overall construction area of 42,000 square meters, with more than 200 kinds of crafts and skills, and can collect more than 6,543,800 masterpieces. The first phase of the project, which has been put into use now, includes more than 30 characteristic workshops and 100 master studios to design cloisonne, jade carving and tooth carving. All masters who enter the Baigong Museum must bring an apprentice, so that these skills can be inherited and innovated.
