The Origin of Ancient Football in China

1) The origin of ancient football in China can be traced back to the Warring States Period 2,500 years ago. It is recorded in the Warring States Policy that when Su Qin met him, he mentioned that the people lived and worked in peace and contentment, and he was happy to "open the bow". The so-called "Cuju" or "Kicking Bow" refers to a football match. "Kick" and "kick" both refer to kicking, while "bow" refers to the ball. The word "Cuju" was first recorded in Historical Records, Bielu by Liu Xiang in Han Dynasty and Biography of Meicheng in Han Dynasty by Yan Shizeng in Tang Dynasty. By the Tang and Song Dynasties, "Cuju" activities had become very popular.

(2) The Han and Tang Dynasties witnessed the most prosperous development of ancient Chinese football, and direct confrontation games developed. According to the book Cheng Ju Ming written by Li You in the Eastern Han Dynasty, there are 12 people on both sides of the competition, and the referee is responsible for law enforcement. Six-month hole targets (called "boulders") are set at each end of the court as targets. The football used is made of leather wrapped in hair, and the playing field is called "Cheng Ju".

(3) In the Tang Dynasty (AD 6 18-907), the ball used in cuju was changed from being filled with hair to being blown with the mouth, and at the same time, two goals were used instead of the "cuju room". At that time, the sport was exported to Japan, and it was also recorded in the Japanese football book "The Secret Book of the Postal Pavilion".

(4) In the Song Dynasty (AD 960- 1279), Cuju developed double-goal and single-goal competitions, and a club called Yun Qi Club or Round Club appeared. Moreover, the rubber ball used is inflated by air pump instead of mouth, which is closer to modern football.

Cuju is also called "kick", "cuqiu", "kick round", "build ball" and "kick round". "Kick" means kicking, "Bow" is a ball, and "Cuju" means kicking. It is an ancient sport in China, which has three forms: direct confrontation, indirect confrontation and beating in vain.

In direct competition, Cheng Ju, that is, the stadium, is surrounded by short walls. Both sides of the game have goals like small houses; There are 12 players on the court, and the two sides engage in direct physical contact confrontation, just like fighting. Those who kick and bow to the opponent's goal win. In the indirect competition, there is a goal in the middle, and there is an "eye of the wind" more than two feet high in the middle of the goal, and both sides are on one side. If the ball doesn't land, the winner can let it go through the eye of the wind. Playing white is mainly the game mode and skill, that is, the game "solution". Each scheme has a variety of kicking actions, such as turning, crawling, riding, twisting and so on. The ancients also gave names to some actions, such as turning to dry Kun, returning to the nest with the swallow, oblique flower arrangement, wind swinging lotus, Buddha crown bead, fish picking in dry land, pushing Buddha to grind, shouldering the moon, turning a meteor and so on.

Modern Times

Although 1928 FIFA General Assembly decided to host the first World Cup in 1930, China Football Association had been established for four years, but it did not join FIFA, which was established in 1904, so there was no question of accepting the invitation or signing up for the competition. Modern football, which originated in Britain, landed in China from Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Tianjin at the end of 19, and took root in high schools or universities in Nanjing and Beijing. According to written records, the earliest football team established in China was the student football team of Shanghai St. John's University, and/kloc-0 came out in 903. The earliest international competition, of course, can only be considered as a D-level competition now. The match between concord college football team and English football team was on 1906. 1908 Six universities in East China held the first intercollegiate championship in Shanghai. The football match between Shanghai and Hong Kong also started in the same year. 19 10 1 The National Games was held in Nanjing. Football is an important game, not a performance. 1924 During the Third National Games held in Wuchang in May, football professionals from North China, East China, Central China, South China and West China set up a unified football management organization in the initiative, which was formally established in Nanjing in August of that year. The first international A-level competition in the history of China's national football team,1931May 12, was held in Manila, the Philippine capital, and the result was 1-2 fiasco. The first A-level international competition won by the old China football team was the first Far East Games (not the Games) held in Manila. China beat the Japanese team 5-0 and won the second place in the first game. Two months before the whistle of the first World Cup in July, 1930, at the 9th Far East Games held in Tokyo, China beat the Philippine team 5-0 and won the football championship of the Far East Games for eight consecutive years. However, China and Japan tied for the championship with a score of 3-3, which became the news of major newspapers in Tokyo the next day. However, the football championship of the Far East Games is not organized by FIFA, so it is called an informal international competition in the history of FIFA. The first World Cup ended in distant South America, and the fourth National Games of old China was held in picturesque Hangzhou. As a result, the Shanghai team won the championship and the Nanjing team won the second place.
