Fan Jianchuan, the founder of Jianchuan Museum, had a special experience: he went to the countryside, joined the army, became a government official, and then went to sea to do business. Now he focuses on the creation and management of folk museums.
The collections of Jianchuan Museum settlement are rich in China characteristics, and most of them revolve around the modern history of China related to war and disaster. This settlement is located in Anren Town, Dayi County, Sichuan Province, with a collection of about 8 million pieces. The themes of more than 30 branches in the settlement are mainly divided into War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, folk customs, Red Age and earthquake relief. At present, 24 branches have been built and opened. In the introduction of the museum's home page, "for peace, collect wars; Collect lessons for the future; Collect disasters for peace; In order to inherit and collect folk customs, it is emphasized for the purpose of settling in the whole museum.
"We don't talk, let the cultural relics talk" is Fan Jianchuan's explanation of the collection. "Cultural relics can truly reflect history, which is the most vivid and simple way to restore the historical truth. Haven't we been talking about using evidence? Cultural relics are evidence. "
Jianchuan Museum settlement main exhibition hall, Anti-Japanese War Museum series, concentrated display 1937 to 1945 China comprehensive War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. There are two special exhibition halls, the Frontal Battlefield Hall and the Flying Tiger Cavalry Hall, and there are many war items to show some battles and details of the Kuomintang in this war.
Fan Jianchuan's father is an anti-Japanese war veteran, and he has a heavy "anti-Japanese war complex". Fan Jianchuan said: "There are many historical fragments, so we should always pick them up. When future generations look at it, because there are more and more fragments, (we want to) connect them. For example, how to fight in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, how to fight in Kuomintang, how to fight in Sichuan, how to fight in Yunnan, including how to fight traitors and how to fight in Japanese. Let's be slaves of history and try to sew this piece together. "
In Fan Jianchuan's collection, the most proud thing is the Flying Tiger painted by Zhang Shanzi. Zhang Shanzi is a very famous tiger painter. 1940 the U.S air "flying tigers" who supported China's anti-Japanese war were highly praised. Zhang Shanzi specially painted this painting of the Flying Tigers and exhibited it in the United States. Fan Jianchuan was acquired by auction. This painting is a national first-class cultural relic, and you can't buy it with money.
Fan Jianchuan said that the reason why he set up the Folk Museum was simply to collect culture, and more importantly, to collect classes. The purpose is to protect history. From this perspective, the museum plays the role of "bell ringer". Museums are also containers for storing experiences and lessons, reminding us of historical details that should not be forgotten.
