Liu Che was the seventh emperor of the Western Han Dynasty. He was keen on territorial expansion and conquest all his life. During his reign, he sent troops to Xiongnu on a large scale for many times, recovered the western regions, and constantly expanded the territory of the Han Dynasty. This is an indelible historical achievement of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, but it is precisely because of his belligerence and years of campaigns that he consumed a lot of military expenses, and the rich treasury accumulated by the two emperors, Emperor Wen and Emperor Jing, was squandered by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. Later, when the national treasury ran out of money, it could only deduct the people's money and increase taxes, and even ordered tax increases, so that the labor force of the whole country could build defenses. As a result, people complained and rebellions occurred frequently all over the country.
In his later years, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, like many emperors in history, was obsessed with the beauty of the harem, trusted the alchemist and wanted to live forever. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty killed hundreds of queens and ministers with witchcraft, and even forced Wei Ruyun's son-in-law and prince to death. At this time, because of his lust for beauty, Li Guangli, the younger brother of his favorite princess, was promoted to general, but he didn't have any military talent. During his invasion of Xiongnu, he was aggressive and fled without fighting, resulting in tens of thousands of people being sacrificed by the Han army. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was furious and put Li Guangli's wife and children in prison. Hearing this, Li Guangli knew that the return to the DPRK would not come to a good end and simply took refuge in the Xiongnu.
Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was hit hard by this and realized that his father and son had been killing each other for many years, which caused serious losses to the country and people. Therefore, I am awarded the crime of "turning the table" and reflect on my mistakes. He ordered to stop sending troops to fight in order to restore agriculture, reduce taxes and let the people live and work in peace and contentment as soon as possible. This is the first document officially issued by the emperor to review himself in the feudal history of China, and it has also become a model for later dynasties.
