Shuidonggou Village, Prehistoric Sites and Ancient Culture

Shuidonggou Village is located in the tourist area of Shuidonggou Site, He Lin Town, lingwu city, Ningxia. This is an ancient crypt-style settlement site area. In the ancient Shuidonggou village, there are cave-style, crypt-style, semi-crypt-style and shallow crypt-style rooms created by northern ancestors. This kind of living room handed down from the Neolithic Age is often built on the hillside or gully bank with thick loess layer, which is characterized by warm winter and cool summer. Shuidonggou village has inherited this ancient way of life. First, it dug a crypt with a certain depth on the loess slope. Then, on the periphery of the crypt, it built a low wall with adobe to make it higher than the ground. Then, use trusses and wooden rafters to top it, followed by firewood, and paste mud on the firewood to prevent water leakage. This kind of bedroom building is extremely cheap, which is the best choice for ancient human living style.
