■ Unique teaching methods

The classroom teaching of the Institute of Cultural Relics highlights the combination of theory and practice. The first and second academic years are mainly based on theory, supplemented by practical training, and the third and fourth academic years are mainly based on practice and combining theory. The academic system lasts for four years, with theoretical courses decreasing step by step and practical courses increasing step by step.

When the Institute of Cultural Relics hires first-line experts to teach, in order to let students learn the real skills and see the real things, they often use physical objects for teaching, such as paintings, ceramics, jade, bronzes and other physical cultural relics, so that students can get in touch with cultural relics at zero distance and have a strong interest. In the past four years, the total training hours of middle school students are basically equivalent to theoretical hours, and there are many internship opportunities in museums, cultural relics markets, sites and other places, and students' professional skills have improved rapidly.

In terms of examination content and form, freshmen and sophomores mainly adopt the closed form of theoretical examination, while juniors and seniors mainly adopt the open form of examination appraisal skills, cultural relics description and other practical contents. For example, in the exam, there are several genuine products. After students observe them, write down their names and years, identify the authenticity and reasons, explain the difference between genuine products and fakes, and describe the products, so as to really test students' professional ability.
