Socrates is called Confucius in the west, because they all started a new era, which was not realized by military or political forces, but through rationality, they thoroughly understood human life, thus guiding a new attitude towards life. Athens did not regain its glory because Socrates was executed, and the mental journey of those judges after the trial was not recorded in writing. I think many of them can't face and convince their conscience, and their souls will be shrouded in the lonely and tenacious figure of the old man. Socrates went to see his God. Only God knows which way is better. Thousands of walkers have gone further and further, but no one can erase this illusory name-Socrates from their hearts.

No matter from what aspect, Plato is one of the most dazzling writers in the western literary tradition and the most insightful, extensive and influential writer in the history of philosophy. As an Athenian citizen with a high status, in his works, he showed his concentration on political events and intellectual activities at that time, but the questions he raised were so far-reaching, and his strategies to deal with them were full of hints and excitement, which educated readers in almost every period and was influenced by him to some extent. Philosophers in almost every era consider themselves Platonists in some important ways. He is not the first thinker or writer who should use the word "philosopher", but he is so conscious about how to conceive philosophy, the scope of philosophy and the correct pursuit goal. Through the rigorous and systematic investigation of ethics, politics, metaphysics and epistemology, he completely mastered these topics and equipped a unique method called his invention, which changed the trend of intellectuals. Only a few other writers in the history of philosophy are close to him in depth and breadth: perhaps only Aristotle (who studied with him), Aquinas and Kant will generally agree to have the same status.

Aristotle is an encyclopedic thinker, who combines the scientific and cultural knowledge of ancient Greece. He not only laid the foundation for many scientific fields later, but also carried forward the spirit of learning and pondering in ancient Greece to the peak. In the hundreds of years after his death, no one has ever had the courage and wisdom to systematically investigate and master all the knowledge like him. His voluminous works have become the spiritual wealth of all mankind, and his great thoughts have not only ruled the whole of Europe, but also left a yardstick for later thinkers and a monument for future generations to pursue knowledge.

They are all great philosophers in the west, and they have a far-reaching influence on later generations. If you want to say anything negative about their theory, it's just that one person can't predict the outcome of the next Millennium. No theory can remain unchanged for thousands of years, but unfortunately these are not understood by their disciples and grandchildren. It's too much to ask a person to predict the Millennium!
