Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, referred to as "Lixin", is a full-time ordinary university in Shanghai. It is a high-level local application-oriented university construction unit in Shanghai, a typical experience-oriented university for graduate employment in China, a pilot school for the reform of fencing professional sports teams in Shanghai, the Industry-University-Research Cooperation Promotion Association of China, and the executive director of the Industry-University-Research Innovation Alliance for School-Enterprise Cooperation in China.

The school was formed by the merger of the former Shanghai Lixin Accounting Institute and the former shanghai finance university. Shanghai Lixin Accounting Institute was formerly Lixin Accounting Institute, which was founded in 1928 and renamed as Lixin Accounting Institute in 1992. In 2003, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Shanghai Lixin Accounting Institute.

Shanghai finance university, formerly known as Shanghai Banking School of the People's Bank of China, was founded in 1952. 1987 was upgraded to shanghai finance university, and 1992 was renamed to shanghai finance university.
