The Three Kingdoms (220-280) is a historical period after the Han Dynasty and before the Jin Dynasty in the history of China. During this period, three major regimes emerged: Cao Wei, Shu Han and Soochow.

In 2008, Battle of Red Cliffs happened, and Cao Cao was defeated by Sun and Liu Lianjun, which laid the rudiment of the tripartite confrontation among the three countries. In 220, Cao Pi, the prime minister of the Han Dynasty, forced Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty to abdicate, making Luoyang its capital, with the title of "Wei", known as Cao Wei in history, marking the official end of the Han Dynasty.
