Development history of PU leather
In China, it is customary to use PU resin as raw material to produce artificial leather called PU artificial leather (referred to as PU leather). The artificial leather made of PU resin and non-woven fabric is called PU synthetic leather. Traditionally, the above three kinds of leather are collectively called synthetic leather. How to name it? We need to unify the norms and give it a more appropriate name.

Artificial leather and synthetic leather are important components of plastic industry, which are widely used in various industries of national economy. The production of artificial leather and synthetic leather has a history of more than 60 years in the world. Since 1958, China has been developing and producing artificial leather, which is an early industry in China's plastic industry. In recent years, the development of China's artificial leather and synthetic leather industry is not only the increase of equipment production line, product output, variety and color, but also the development of the industry has its own industry organization, which has considerable cohesion, so that China's artificial leather and synthetic leather enterprises, including related industries, can be organized and developed into a quite powerful industry.

After PVC artificial leather, PU synthetic leather, as an ideal substitute for natural leather, has made breakthrough technical progress after more than 30 years of painstaking research and development by scientific and technological experts.

PU coating on fabric surface first appeared in the market in 1950s. By 1964, DuPont Company of the United States had developed a PU synthetic leather used as an upper. After the Japanese company established a production line with an annual output of 600,000 square meters, after more than 20 years of continuous research and development, PU synthetic leather has been rapidly improved in product quality, variety and output. Its performance is getting closer and closer to that of natural leather, and some of its performance even exceeds that of natural leather, reaching the point where it is inseparable from natural leather, and occupies a very important position in human daily life.

Today, Japan is the largest producer of synthetic leather, and the products of Coralli, Teijin, Toray and Zhong Fang basically represent the international development level in the 1990s. Its fiber and non-woven fabric manufacturing is developing towards superfine, high density and high non-woven fabric effect; Its PU manufacturing is developing in the direction of PU dispersion and PU aqueous emulsion, and the application fields of its products are constantly expanding, from the initial field of shoes and bags to other special application fields such as clothing, ball games and decoration, covering all aspects of people's daily life.
