Why is sugar a strategic material?
In wartime, foods with high sugar content (fruit syrup, chocolate, candy, etc. ) are extremely important strategic materials, because sugar can provide soldiers with a steady stream of energy as a supply and is an "artifact" to improve combat effectiveness.

Sugar is a polyhydroxy (two or more) aldehyde or ketone, which can become one of the organic compounds after hydrolysis.

Chemically, because it is composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, similar to the polymerization of carbon and water in the chemical formula, it is also called carbohydrate.

The history of sugar:

People in prehistoric times have known that sweets come from fresh fruits, honey and plants. Later, it was developed to make maltose from grains, and then to make sugar from sugarcane beets. The history of sugar production has roughly experienced three stages: early sugar production, manual sugar production and mechanized sugar production.
