1. Wei and Jin Dynasties-Ji Kang's Dear Chrysanthemum Garden
Ji Kang, one of the seven sages of bamboo forest, was proud of not being an official all his life. His good friend Dan Tao, named Juyuan, is also one of the seven sages of bamboo forest. Dan Tao was transferred from Cao Lang to the corps commander, and recommended Ji Kang to the court after his promotion. Ji Kang felt that Dan Tao didn't understand his ambition, and he was insulted, so he angrily wrote "Dear Chrysanthemum Garden" and broke up with Dan Tao.
He wrote in his article that "long leisure, pride, simplicity and courtesy, laziness and slowness complement each other" and said that he was not cut out to be an official. In order to dispel each other's thoughts, he also wrote his own seven unbearable and two impossible nine disasters. Finally, it boils down to one sentence: it means that we should not only solve the problem, but also put ourselves in other's shoes.
2. During the Republic of China-Zhou brothers broke up?
Lu Xun's real name is Zhou Shuren, and his brother's name is Zhou Zuoren. At that time, they were two brave members of the New Culture Movement.
Suddenly, we stopped seeing each other. It was1July 923 19, and Zhou Zuoren suddenly wrote a letter to his brother Lu Xun, which read as follows:
Mr. Lu Xun:
I didn't know until yesterday-but there's no need to talk about the past. I'm not a Christian, but fortunately I can afford it, and I don't want to blame anyone-everyone is poor. My previous rose dream turned out to be illusory, but what I see now may be real life. I want to change my mind and start a new life. Please don't come to the backyard again, that's all. May you feel at ease and respect yourself.
After this letter, the two brothers never contacted each other again until Lu Xun died. The reason for their disagreement has also become a mystery.
3. Modernity-the break between Yang Zhenning and Li Zhengdao
From 65438 to 0949, Yang Zhenning came to Princeton Institute for Advanced Studies to start postdoctoral research, and also began cooperation with Li Zhengdao for more than ten years. The cooperation between them was fruitful, and 32 papers were published together. But 1962, the two broke up and no longer cooperated scientifically, and their friendship was written off. Their bad relationship is a great loss to the scientific community in China.
Li Zhengdao described their relationship in Broken Parity: we are heading for the same goal, but when we leave, we all forget our original intention and only focus on competing with each other. There is only quarrel between the two.
There are many such examples in western history, the most famous of which is the breakup between Rousseau and Diderot.
