China is a country with a long history and diverse cultures, and each region has its own unique food culture and special cuisine. However, in some areas, due to historical, geographical and demographic factors, traditional food culture is lacking. I summed up several cities similar to the gourmet desert:

1. Kunming: Kunming is located in Yunnan Province. Because it is located in the plateau, the climate is cool, and the food culture is greatly influenced by foreign countries, and no significant traditional cuisine has been formed.

2. Yinchuan: Yinchuan is located in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, where the Hui people live in compact communities. The food culture is mainly halal food, but it has not formed a unique traditional food.

Lhasa: Lhasa is the capital of Xizang Autonomous Region. Due to the unique environmental and climatic conditions in the plateau, Tibetan traditional food is the main diet, but it has not formed a more unique traditional food.

4. Urumqi: Urumqi is located in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The food culture is influenced by multi-ethnic cultures and has not formed a unique traditional cuisine.

It should be noted that the above cities do not mean that there is no food, but only a lack of obvious traditional food culture. These cities are rich in local snacks and catering culture, and you can taste all kinds of delicious food.
