Why don't Dong people have their own characters?
Now some people are promoting the Dong language, but some media often introduce Dong people in this way. "Although the Dong people have a beautiful and ancient culture, they never have their own language." Many people will doubt whether the Dong people have their own writing. My answer is, "Dong people never have their own writing. In the past, they used Chinese characters to record certain things. Dong language was not produced until 1958. This Dong language belongs to phonography.

Traditional China people don't like pinyin characters, and some people think that Dong characters are imposed on us by the government, not created by Dong people themselves, so they are emotionally unacceptable and disagree. Even if Dong has it, it's useless.

I haven't heard the Dong language before 20 14, and I always thought that Dong people have no writing. Why don't Dong people have words? This question is not difficult to answer. There are still most nationalities in the world who have no corresponding characters in their languages. There are more and more endangered languages because there are no written records, no documents, no national language classes, few users, infrequent communication and the impact of strong foreign languages and cultures. Without the cultural carrier of national language, this nation will almost perish.

It is for this reason that I have doubts. Why can't Dong people have their own characters? Not before, and not now? Everything survives, and the fittest strives for self-improvement. Those who stand by and reason are the strong, the strong prosper, the unreasonable people are the weak, and the weak perish. Therefore, if the Dong people want to survive, they must have writing. What kind of writing should Dong people create?

I had the idea of creating Dong language when I was in the second grade. Dong language, like Chinese, is a syllable language, and its pronunciation takes syllables as the smallest unit. A syllable represents a word, so you should also make square characters. I created more than a dozen "Dong characters" in a few days. Why so little? Because the square characters are almost used up by Chinese characters, Guoan font library has 9 125 1 Chinese characters. How difficult it is to create square ideographic characters different from Chinese characters. So I gave up the idea of making square characters and changed to pinyin characters. No matter what language it is, its pronunciation is composed of phonemes, which means it can be "spelled". It took me several months to learn about the phonetic system of my hometown dialect and make a set of phonograms. Pinyin is the best choice now, which can be input on mobile phones and computers to facilitate the spread of learning. Thousands of square characters are obviously impossible to compile, and it will only increase the difficulty of memory if you can't input them on the computer.

Later, I met Dong language, which was written in 1958. I really hate being late for meetings. After learning Dong language, I have gained a lot, changed my narrow understanding of Dong language, and learned about Dong dialects in various places. Resolutely embarked on the road of promoting and exploring Dong language. Someone asked me what's the use of learning Dong language, and why should I learn Dong language? As a Dong people, why should we ask them if we want to inherit and develop our own national language? Is it difficult for the values of today's society to be distorted and reduced to such an unbearable state?

Guagua is not sweet, but it quenches thirst. Although Dong language was created by experts, its appearance has gone down in history, marking an important step in the development of Dong culture. With written language, the Dong people have a solid foundation for developing and inheriting culture. Because the Dong language can be recorded in writing, it is possible to offer Dong language courses, so that the national language can be developed and the culture can be continued.

Dong people have written language. As a Dong people, there is no need to ask "why" when learning Dong language and inheriting national language and culture.
