Nantong belongs to northern Jiangsu.

But it can be called Jiangnan.

Northern Jiangsu was once a provincial administrative division in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, including most areas north of the Yangtze River in Jiangsu, namely Yangzhou, Taizhou, Yancheng, Huai 'an, Nantong and Suqian.

Subei, referred to as Subei for short, is located in the Yangtze River Delta with Shanghai as the leader, and is an important part of China coastal economic belt.
