Baotou is located in the west of Inner Mongolia, at the southern end of Mongolian Plateau, bordering the Yellow River in the south, Tumochuan Plain and Hetao Plain in the east and west, and the yinshan mountains runs through the middle. Located in the hinterland of Bohai Economic Circle and Yellow River Economic Belt. It is an important hub connecting North China and Northwest China and a key development area of Inner Mongolia's opening to the outside world.
The Historical Origin of Baotou
The section of the Yellow River flowing through Baotou is the place where primitive people moved earlier. There are a large number of ancient human cultural relics here, and more than 10 have been excavated. A well-preserved Neolithic village site, Ashangou Site and a large number of cultural relics, was excavated in the Gejigou, Ashangou Gate, east of Donghe District 15km.
Qian Qian Plateau is located in the north of the yinshan mountains, which runs east-west. In ancient China, this was the place where nomadic people in the north lived and multiplied. In the communication with the Central Plains Dynasty in the Yellow River valley, it promoted the integration of all ethnic groups, accelerated the feudalization of ethnic minorities, and promoted the development of the whole society and civilized exchanges.
