At the end of Kaiyuan, Shen Zhenzhu was elected as a good son of the East Palace, and Prince Hengli gave the bid to Li Chu (later changed to Li Yu). In 742, Shen Shi gave birth to the emperor's great-grandson Shili, now Tang Dezong, for Li Chu, a Guangping king aged 15 in the East Palace of Chang 'an Palace.
In 755, Xuanzong fled hastily in the Anshi Rebellion, but Shen Shi and some clan members were not lucky enough to escape with him. In 756, Li Yu recovered Luoyang and met Shen Shi at Yeting Palace. He was responsible for recovering the north and didn't welcome back to Chang 'an, so Li Yu arranged Shen Shi in Luoyang. But I don't want Luoyang to sink again, so Shen Shi's whereabouts are unknown, and his life and death are uncertain.
Shen Zhenzhu's personality evaluation:
Throughout the life of Queen Shen, her fate has been bumpy and chaotic, and the ending is an eternal mystery. His relationship with "generous, deep, kind and gentle" as described in Old Tang Shu, and his relationship with his concubines Cui Shi and Dugu, has also become a hot topic for future generations to discuss and argue.
Queen Shen and Tang Daizong are a young couple. Besides, after being strictly selected by Xuanzong Dynasty, Shen was assigned to the East Palace at that time, and his appearance and talent were not bad. Her son Tang Dezong's literary talent was highly praised in old Tang books.
After Tang Daizong ascended the throne, due to the Anshi Rebellion, the financial resources of the Tang Dynasty dried up, but he didn't give up sending messengers to find Queen Shen. Later, Shen's father and former Dali Yi was posthumously appointed as secretary supervisor, and his eldest brother Shen was promoted to secretary supervisor, claiming to be the eldest son on the list of Crown Princes.
In the eighth year of Dali, Tang Daizong appointed Shen Shi's relatives as the directors of Quanjian School, and Huzhou government funded Shen Shi's family to repair Shen Shi's ancestors who had been abandoned for many years because of the Jin 'eshan War. The poet Jiao Ran also wrote poems to congratulate Shen Shi's clansmen. This shows that Queen Shen's family and son have been well treated.
