What is a memory stick?
Memory stick is a computer component that CPU can address, read and write through bus. In the history of personal computers, memory chips used to be extensions of main memory. With the continuous updating of computer software and hardware technology, memory chips have become the whole of read-write memory. What we usually call the size of computer memory (RAM) refers to the total capacity of memory chips.

The difference between RAM and ROM

After power failure, the data written into RAM (that is, read and write memory, that is, memory sticks) will disappear completely. When the computer is turned on, the earliest program data read and executed by CPU comes from rom (Read Only Memory).

The difference between internal memory and external memory

Memory is the basic component of computer (including single chip microcomputer), which has existed since the day there was a computer. External memory belongs to computer peripheral equipment, and hard disk is developed after tape and floppy disk stage.

Function of memory

Memory is an indispensable part of the computer, and the CPU can address the memory through the data bus. Historically, there was main memory on the computer motherboard, and the memory stick was an extension of main memory. In the future, there is no main memory on the computer motherboard, and the CPU depends entirely on memory chips. Everything on the external memory must pass through the memory to be valid.
