China riots. After Zhou Wuwang's death, Zhou Chengwang was regent by Zhou Gongdan when he was young. About seven years later, when Zhou Chengwang came of age, Zhou Gongdan returned power to Zhou Chengwang. The reign of Zhou Chengwang and Zhou Kangwang was the heyday of the Zhou Dynasty. As the saying goes, the world is peaceful and there is no need to punish for more than 40 years.
After Zhou Kangwang, during the reign of King Zhao of Zhou and Zhou Muwang, relying on the accumulation of the previous generation, they launched a crusade against the surrounding ethnic groups, further expanding the territory of the Zhou Dynasty, but it was not until the late reign of Zhou Muwang that the Zhou Dynasty began to turn from prosperity to decline.
During the reign of Zhou Liwang, there was a serious crisis in the Western Zhou Dynasty. Zhou Liwang was a greedy and cruel monarch. Later, he appointed Yi Rong as a minister and began to implement the "patent" policy in the Western Zhou Dynasty. Of course, this patent is not what we are talking about now, but the benefit of mountains and rivers.
What do you mean, all the mountains and rivers that were originally used by civilians were nationalized, and Chinese people were forbidden to collect firewood and fish for hunting. In addition, all the private spheres of the emerging nobles were nationalized, so Zhou Liwang offended almost everyone except himself and his courtiers.
Zhou Liwang's patent policy makes people complain bitterly. Everyone gnashes their teeth when they mention Zhou Liwang. Think about it, too. Zhou Liwang has cut him off. Can he not hate it? But Zhou Liwang is not worried about this, because he thinks his soldiers are strong enough to suppress anyone who refuses.
Officials forced the people to revolt, which was unbearable for the people of Zhou Dynasty under Zhou Liwang's high-handed rule. They rose up together, rioted and broke into the palace. Zhou Liwang saw that the momentum was wrong and hurried away. This is the "Chinese riots" in history. This year is 84 1 year BC (or 842 BC).
* * * and ruling. After Zhou Liwang fled, the history of China entered a "* * * and era", and 84 BC1was also called * * * and the first year. That is, starting from this year, China has an exact date.
Obviously, the * * * and the times here are not the * * * and the present in concept, but there are two different versions of such an era, the historical records of which can be found in Historical Records of Zhou Benji and Annals of Bamboo Books, as follows:
Zhao Gong and the Duke of Zhou were two dynasties, which were also called "* * * and". * * * and fourteen years, Wang Li died in Zhan. -"Historical Records Zhou Benji"
Thirteen years, Wang Zaibi, * * * Hebo took pictures of the son of heaven. -Bamboo Chronicle
Let's start with the first one. After Zhou Liwang fled, the Zhou Dynasty was in a dilemma, because the country could not live without a monarch for a day. As many people said, the establishment of another monarch was over, but it was not polite at that time, because Zhou Liwang was not dead and a new king was established. What is this?
Since a new king cannot be established, what should that country do without a king? It is easy for Zhao Mugong and Zhou and * * * two powerful ministers to be in power together, and Tai Shigong also thinks that it is because of their * * * that they are reconciled.
Let me talk about the second one. With the excavation of bamboo annals, we find that this "* * * and" is not necessarily the case, because the word "* * * and" recorded in this ancient book comes from a person's name-* * Bohe.
This man was the monarch of a vassal state that was enfeoffed out by the Zhou Dynasty. This vassal state is a * * * country, and this person is called Ji He, so it is called * * * Hebo. According to the bamboo annals, it was after Zhou Liwang fled that the minister made a person come to the Regent of the Zhou Dynasty, so it was called "* * * and".
Later, in * * * and 14 years, that is, in 828 BC, Zhou Liwang died, and his son was crowned king by the nobles for Zhou Xuanwang, while * * * Bohe returned the kingship after Zhou Xuanwang ascended the throne, thus ending the short "* * and times".
Which of these two statements is more reliable? Feiyu thinks the second one is more reliable. On the one hand, Chronicle of Bamboo Books was written by Zhou people, much earlier than the history books. On the other hand, these two people are in power together. In the slave society at that time, it may be impossible to maintain peace for so long. what do you think?
The beginning of an accurate chronology. Therefore, from the above description, we can know that in 84 1 year BC, two major events occurred, namely, the Chinese riots and the * * * and the ruling. So why is this year crucial in history? The reason why we have been there before is that this is the beginning of an accurate chronology of China's history, and there have been no faults since then.
Having said that, many people may have a question, what is the significance of an accurate chronology? To put it bluntly, from this year on, when we talk about a historical event, we don't need to take the word "left and right", describe the year when it happened, and describe it as "around XXX BC".
Of course, this accurate chronology does not deny that historical events before 84 1 year BC do not exist, and there is no conflict between them. It's just that the historical records before this year only have a rough time, but there is no exact time, so the history before 84 BC1does exist, but it is chaotic.
It is worth mentioning that Sima Qian, the Taishi Duke, failed to specify the specific year before 84 BC1year because of the rigor of historians, so he could only compile a chronology starting from 84 BC1year.
However, it is undeniable that our Chinese nation has a history of five thousand years. Even though the accurate chronology began after 84 BC1year, I believe that with the continuous excavation and research of historical events, our accurate historical chronology will continue to advance. After all, our history is there and we only need one piece of evidence.
