Yi Yin said Tang Ding.
Yi Yin, a famous slave of the Shang Tang family, works in the kitchen. In order to let Shang Tang know that he is a capable person, Yi Yin often looks for opportunities to approach Shang Tang. Sometimes he cooks delicious food, but sometimes he deliberately cooks it too salty or too light, which makes Shang Tang ask him questions and take this opportunity to make an analogy. He said to Shang Tang, "Cooking should not be too salty or too light. Only when the seasoning is put properly can the food taste good.
The same is true of governing the country. We can neither rush nor relax our efforts. Only when things are done properly can things be done well. "Words really persuaded Shang Tang's heart, Shang Tang found himself a talent in the slave's kitchen, so he lifted Yi Yin's slave status and made it the right phase. Since then, Yi Yin helped Shang Tang plan an attack on the Xia Dynasty, destroyed the Xia Dynasty in one fell swoop and established the Shang Dynasty, which made great contributions. In the early Shang Dynasty, Yi Yin helped Shang Tang to formulate various laws and regulations, stipulating that officials must work diligently and make remarkable achievements, otherwise hell to pay would even be punished as a slave.
Therefore, in the early Shang Dynasty, officials did not dare to run amok, and political stability and economic prosperity prevailed. After the death of Shang Tang, Yi Yin continued to assist the second and third generation monarchs of Shang Dynasty, helping them to correct their mistakes and govern the country well.
Yi Yin invented decoction.
According to records, the founder of traditional Chinese medicine decoction is Yi Yin.
According to legend, Yi Yin is very knowledgeable, knowing astronomy above and geography below. He is best at treating people with herbs and is called a living immortal. It is recorded in Records of the Historian Yin Benji that "Yi Yin said soup has a taste". "Zi Tong Zhi Jian" called him "Sheng Min's sensitive sufferings, making soup as herbal medicine, and making it clear that it is cold and hot, warm and cool, bitter, sweet and salty, and light and turbid, emphasizing the rise and fall of Yin and Yang, and the twelve meridians is suitable." The preface of A-B Classic also says, "Yi Yin used Shen Nong's materia medica as his soup." It can be seen from the historical records that Yi Yin's research on traditional Chinese medicine decoction is profound.
How long did Yi Yin, a man in the early Shang Dynasty, live in the upper reaches of the Yi River? The story of Luanchuan's "plowing and studying Gutian" has been circulated for thousands of years, only telling us that he is a learned man. He did many good things for the masses in Man Zi Tou area of Luanchuan. Shi Jingshan's gully left his footprints. The thatched cottage where he lives is full of Chinese herbal medicines, and there are thousands of exotic flowers and herbs dug from the mountains in front of and behind his house, which is called a herbarium.
Later, King Shang Tang got married and Yi Yin came to Luoyang as a dowry. There is a description that Yi Yin, as a slave, was the full-time cook of the Tang King. He is good at studying and trying to figure out people's minds and tastes. Not only is his food always praised by everyone, but he also has his own distinct views on national affairs. Don has a good eye for talents. Seeing Yi Yin's outstanding intelligence and originality, he boldly hired him as his right-hand man.
Yi Yin was called a saint by later generations because of his superb cooking skills and outstanding achievements in the post of prime minister, but his contribution to medicine and his creation of soup were little known. Yi Yin's theory of making soup first spread in or before the Han Dynasty, and Luanchuan folks all know that decocting Chinese medicine originated in Yi Yin. Yi Yin was born in the lower class, and his unyielding personality made him mushrooming, and no force could hinder his growth. In the process of treating diseases for the people, he tasted all kinds of herbs and was poisoned countless times, and came to a conclusion that raw herbs are not as good as boiled herbs. He explored the cooking principle and made raw rice and lettuce into delicious food with rich nutrition and excellent taste. Why not mix herbs and fry them into liquid medicine for later use? Time has also created herbal soup.
In Lu's Spring and Autumn Annals, it is mentioned that Yi Yin used medicine as a metaphor in the dialogue with him. "There is something new, discard the old, understand its meaning, continue its essence, and eliminate its evil." Yi Yin also further clarified the inseparable relationship between medicine and food from the perspective of homology. Taking ginger and cinnamon as examples, Yi Yin demonstrated that "Yang Pu's ginger is a flamboyant cinnamon", which probably means that common condiments are also common medicines. Naturally, I learned the pungent, warm and dispersing effects of ginger and cinnamon in cooking and used them to treat diseases.
It seems that Yi Yin's dialectical view of medication is not inferior to the founders and sages of medicine. No wonder the villagers in Laojunshan area have so much experience and interest in the processing of medicinal materials, which are all influenced by their ancestors! It is said that the essence of Lao Zi's seclusion in Jingshi Mountain in Luanchuan is to admire the culture of his ancestors in Yi Yin and follow in the footsteps of the sages.
Now, it seems that the soup is made of all kinds of medicinal materials boiled in water. The method is similar to the method of cooking food, but in ancient times, only Yi Yin could find and practice it. Yi Yin is not only good at cooking, but also good at general medicine. He turned the experience of processing food into medicine, which is a great creation. In the final analysis, the emergence of decoction is due to the unique herbal resources in Yi Yin, which are good at research and located in Shijingshan Mountain, Luanchuan.
