With the development of the times, Yazhou has become an important foothold for merchants nearby, and the ancient city is a bustling scene.

The ancient town of Yazhou kept its original appearance before 1920, but later, due to road construction and large-scale construction, people dug bricks for construction on a large scale during the Cultural Revolution, thus the ancient town of Yazhou was largely destroyed, leaving few marks, leaving only a city gate and a small section of city walls. The city gate is now a civilized city gate, and the rest of the city walls and towers were built later and are still under construction.

The location of Yazhou ancient city is very particular, because in ancient times, geographical location was the first choice for building a city. Yazhou ancient city was built in the hilly area at the southern foot of Wuzhishan, surrounded by mountains on three sides, overlooking the sea and facing south.
