The Origin and Development of China's Films
China's film industry originated in the early 20th century. 1905, Ren Qingtai (word Jingfeng), the founder of Beijing Fengtai Photo Studio, filmed a clip of Dingjun Mountain starring Tan Xinpei, which was the first film made by China people themselves.

From 1925 to 1927, Shanghai established 140 small and medium-sized film companies. Guangzhou, Beiping (now Beijing), Tianjin and other cities also made films.

After 1930, under the leadership of China * * * Production Party, the League of Chinese Left-wing Writers and the League of China Left-wing Dramatists were successively established in Shanghai.

After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), the former private film studio in Shanghai jointly established a public-private joint venture film studio, and 1953 was merged into the Shanghai film studio.
