History is written by winners.
I'm afraid that except Sima Qian, who wrote history and dared to directly record the gains and losses of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, other historians, even Tongzhijian, dared not offend the emperor of the dynasty. Therefore, although historians of past dynasties recorded the history of the present dynasty fairly and objectively, the history was always written by the victors. In order to maintain the stability of the current rulers, it is very common to gradually dilute the weight of the former dynasty in the hearts of ordinary people and stigmatize the enemy.

For example, after the change of Xuanwu Gate, in order to reduce the sense of existence of Prince Li and Li Yuanji among the common people and courtiers, Li Shimin wrote Li as a fierce and cruel person who didn't care about political affairs, and even belittled Li Yuanji in many places, describing him as a foolhardy and helpful person.

However, it is obvious that Liu Bang and Xiang Yu, both enemies, did not have such a situation, and from the poems of many later poets such as Li Qingzhao, it can be seen that Xiang Yu's upright and upright Jiangdong spirit has always been appreciated by later generations. Therefore, as a winner, Liu Bang did not make a great contribution to reducing Xiang Yu's sense of existence in folk and history books, which is really abnormal for Liu Bang. Liu bang's caution, but even people who followed him for many years could not tolerate it, not to mention Xiang Yu who humiliated her at the Hongmen banquet.

At the hongmen banquet, if Xiang Bo hadn't tipped them off beforehand, liu bang wouldn't have been prepared, so it is understandable that liu bang named Xiang Bo as Qi Huangong. As for the other relatives of Xiang Yu, it has existed since ancient times, and the two armies fought without cutting, especially for the surrendered prisoners. Therefore, the surrendered Xiang Xiang naturally got the kindness of Liu Bang. Xiang Xiang once confronted Liu Bang, but after being captured by Liu Bang, he still got Liu Bang's respect.

As for the other relatives of Xiang Yu, although history is paramount, there is no record of the whereabouts of others, but their life and death are unknown. It can be seen that Liu Bang has never done anything to Xiang Yu's relatives from beginning to end. At the same time, in order to show that the emperor was heavy, Liu Bang specially gave the family name of the country, which was not a little kindness.

It is indeed recorded in the history books that after Xiang Yu's death, Liu Bang specially helped him carry the coffin. Among many successful historical rulers, Liu Bang's mind is really extraordinary.

Of course, getting up early is not good. On the one hand, Liu Bang really admired Xiang Yu's heroic feelings. Liu bang was a chivalrous man when he was young. Although in the historical evaluation, Liu Bang has always been a man with all his birds bent on hiding, this does not hinder Liu Bang's respect for heroes and high-ranking figures. Can you imagine Liu Bang's sigh when he met Qin Shihuang in the street? A gentleman should be like this? You can know half the reason why Liu Bang didn't stigmatize Xiang Yu.

On the other hand, Liu Bang's ability to lower himself naturally attracted the admiration of a large number of Lao Liu people. Liu bang accommodated the participation of the six countries with his own mind. With the stability of the world, the six countries have been rarely mentioned, and they are all Han people, which truly achieved the first integration.

Rulers of past dynasties stigmatized their opponents, partly because the people's voices accumulated by the enemy in the folk for many years and the support of some people easily fanned the flames among the people, such as fighting against the Qing Dynasty and regaining sight. Therefore, extreme stigma naturally lowers its status in the hearts of ordinary people.

However, Xiang Yu is different. Xiang Yu was alienated from his relatives when he was besieged and in battle. The kindness and suspicious character of Xiang Yu's women gradually lost their sons and daughters in Jiangdong. Soldiers who fought for many years miss their hometown and naturally have many complaints about Xiang Yu, hoping to end the war as soon as possible.

Therefore, when Xiang Yu was cornered by Liu Bang and there was a big river behind him, he was already alone and had no cronies around him. At the same time, it also means that Xiang Yu's sense of existence among the people has disappeared, and the people's resentment against him has been deep. Therefore, at this time, Liu Bang has won the hearts of the people. There is no need to stigmatize Xiang Yu, but it will be counterproductive.

Liu bang is indeed enlightened, which is also based on reality. In Sima Qian's Historical Records, Sima Qian evaluated the emperor on the basis of his personal subjective feelings, but from Sima Qian's description of Liu Bang, Liu Bang was indeed an open-minded person, so he was a descendant of Xiang Yu or his relatives.

Sima Qian was outspoken about the Liling incident at that time and even offended Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. However, Sima Qian's description of Liu Bang is fair and objective, and it is conceivable that Liu Bang is not as miserable as recorded in later generations.

Therefore, the reason why Liu Bang didn't stigmatize Xiang Yu is that Xiang Yu has long been alienated from his relatives and lost his early status as a call sign among the people, which does not pose a threat to Liu Bang's construction of the world. Another part of the reason, of course, is that other emperors are not as open-minded as Liu Bang.
