Power supply bureau and power supply company mean the same thing. Power supply company refers to the safe, reliable, continuous and qualified sales of electric energy to the vast number of power customers through transmission and distribution devices to meet the economic construction and domestic electricity demand of the vast number of customers.
History of power supply bureau
Before the electric power system reform in 2002, the power supply enterprises directly supplied by the Ministry of Electric Power Industry were all called power supply bureaus. As a local administrative organization, the Provincial Electric Power Industry Bureau has both administrative functions and is responsible for production and sales. Therefore, the Provincial Electric Power Industry Bureau is a public institution integrating government with enterprise. Before the electric power system reform, the provincial electric power industry bureau and the provincial electric power company were two brands and a set of people.
Power supply enterprises below the provincial level have no administrative functions and are only responsible for production and sales. After 1988, some prefecture-level power supply bureaus were renamed as electric power bureaus, and all county-level power supply enterprises were called power supply bureaus.
